The Hemmingway Inn

And onwards... So last night my new friend, Eric, and I headed up to a roof top party at the Sheraton.

Eric had met a DJ on our flight in, and he had given us an invite to this event where he would be the DJ; and so we went. I've always wanted to go to a roof top party. And I have to say that even though it was raining non stop, and half the event was on a non-covered side of the rooftop, it was a blast!

Great views of San Jose; stellar music; good drinks.
What better way to start ending my twenties than totally irresponsibly and running all over the world. Sigh... Do I really have to turn thirty; I still feel twenty-five.

Eric, quite the gentleman, took me back to the hotel where my new tour group would be staying, and headed back to his new hostel. We said our goodbyes as he would be leaving for the west coast of the country the following day, and I the east, on a travel adventure tour with my tour group.

Oh, and before I forget how crazy last night was... there was a festival in San Jose, and quite the strange festival it was. A festival of lights with the whole of San Jose's public services involved in a massive parade. There were firemen dancing on their trucks, a float with a burning house on it with "burn baby burn" coming out of it, and a crazy scary sexy weird matchstick lady peaking out of the house windows and dancing... Yes... San Jose is already growing on me...

Today I pay for the craziness of last night with a big thank you to Eric for getting me back safe, and a massive stomach ache. My tummy feels wobbly inside.
After a wonderful hot shower I walk up to the fruit stand in the market and get a juice blended for my aching stomach; yes they make great juices for all sorts of ailments (headache, weight-loss, energy and immunity, smooth skin, etc.)
I am soon feeling loads better. I walk all around the city for hours, and then head back to the Hemmingway Inn, a great hotel in the city center, very eclectic, classy, and artistically decorated with beautiful stained glass works. They have a wonderful restaurant attached, and great staff in the hotel; all very kind and friendly. Here I have a most fabulous hot chocolate. (Highly recommended)
