I, Tahira Karim, am a Canadian born woman with mixed Indian and African heritage.
I am also an artist, illustrator and designer passionate about art history, problem solving, and travel. Having traveled to over 28 countries, and lived in over 5 of them, I have composed, within myself, much data in regard to local cultures, stories, foods, fashions and craft.
Between 2004 and 2018 I completed degrees in both Teaching, and Animation and Media Arts in Canada, and then taught various years and grades in both Canada and Peru. In 2018 I moved to France to pursue a Masters Degree in Fine Arts. I currently reside in Ile de France where I spend my time making art, writing, reading, researching, and spending time with wonderful friends. In the future I would love to continue travelling the world and getting to know its people and nature, writing and illustrating books for children, and eventually, once again teach art so that I can share my knowledge of art, art history, and cultures with another upcoming generation of new artists.
On Travel: The freedom of plunging into a new setting with new foods, peoples, and languages - is scary and exciting. Again the world fills with wonder.
For the last ten years I have been in love with Peru for its fantastic culture, people, and food.
I am also in love with beautiful and moody Scotland, and the lush fragrances and intense sights of India.
Next, I lust to travel to Japan or South East Asia, so as to traverse my comfort zone.
